Things have progressed from frustrated to confusing and a little weird. As it turns out, while I definitely have tendonitis in my hand, my test for CTS may have yielded a false positive. I'm in occupational therapy to strengthen my hands and also work on my posture (which may actually be contributing to some of the problem). I haven't braved the drawing bored yet, but I've been able to increase my typing time from impossible to about half-hour spurts before I need rest.
In other news, I will be returning to Japan at the end of the month for another round of study abroad. At the request of my employer from last summer, I will be setting up some sort of outside gallery to post photos of my adventures, and when that's done, I will post a link here, as well as a couple of the photos themselves, in my gallery. Keep in mind I will not post pictures of my host family as I do not think they would be comfortable having their photos on the internet.
I will be gone from the end of August until about mid-December, then again from early January until about the middle or end of May. I will be able to post any design work I do, but any traditional art will have to wait as I won't have a scanner. As I write this, I am hopeful that my hand will be up and working normally by the time I leave. To be safe, though, my current intended artistic pursuit has moved from tea ceremony/calligraphy to possibly Ikebana.
Finally, I'm on the 5th draft of my book, and depending on how things proceed and the editing process, I may start posting snippets on here again.
Hope y'all are having a wonderful summer (or winter if you live south of the equator),
